Filmmakers in the under 20 set are getting excited in Oakland. I can feel it! Well, maybe I just have a feeling they are, because every year the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival event comes to town, it garners more attendees, more creativity, and more fun at the Rockridge Library! Changes at the Oakland Public Library
After 18 years at the Oakland Public Library, Gerry Garzon retired last week as the Director of the library. A librarian for 40 years, Gerry had been the Director since 2013. In honor of his retirement, the Oakland City Council presented a decree bestowing his talents and accomplishments to a large crowd of supporters who filled the chambers.
